Centennial Poles at the Bank of Wiggins

Centennial poles Bank of Wiggins

Celebrating Stone County’s Centennial! The first set of “Centennial Garden Poles” are located at the branch of the Bank of Wiggins! The Bank was one of the sponsors for the poles. Local artists painted the Centennial Poles, the Heritage poles that celebrate businesses that are at least 100 years old, and a theme pole that celebrates the business  (painted by artist Kym Garraway).

Congratulations to Stone County and the Bank of Wiggins on their 100th Birthday!

Mosaic Tile Concrete Benches

Emily Sumrall’s 9th grade students from Stone High School recently spent two days with mosaic tile mural artist Elizabeth Veglia and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) arts instructor Sandra Cassibry creating mosaic tile concrete benches celebrating Stone County’s heritage plants and animals.

Project sponsors include the Bank of Wiggins, Betsy and Otis Rowell, the Friends of Stone County Libraries, the Stone County Arts Council, MGCCC, and the Stone County School District. We thank everyone for their support.
