We will cover pigments, extending paints, Hi Flow and the exciting line of “OPEN” acrylics, the acrylic paint that stays wet and workable longer than regular acrylic, plus a whole lot more. There’s a little something for everyone. All attendees will receive a valuable information packet and free samples of Golden products. In the “Whole Lot More” section we will cover some of Golden’s newest products like the exciting line of watercolor mediums under the “QoR” label along with products from our subsidiary company Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paints.

SEDUCTIVE SURFACES FOR PAINTING & COLLAGE

Explore new, fun and innovative approaches to collage and painting using acrylic mediums. Try new surfaces. Learn to create a multitude of surfaces with acrylic gels & grounds that can enhance the collage process. Explore grounds for washes, glazes, texture & layering, for drawing & painting & applying images. This class will be exploratory, fun and inventive. Suitable for all levels, Golden Artist Colors materials supplied. Artists should also bring along a few favorite drawing elements(no actual drawing talent necessary) such as pastels, colored pencils, etc., and a brush & palette knife or two, along with a small container for water & paper toweling. A bag lunch & something to drink is recommended if attending the morning session.

I hope you can join us and I look forward to meeting you

if it’s your first time or seeing past attendees again.

Blue Head Front & enlightened

I have been painting for over 35 years. Painting, sculpting, & teaching are my passion. My work has evolved from very large abstract-figurative to smaller, purely abstract pieces.  Close examination of a particular piece will reveal texture, hand-prints & even footprints that are part of the process of creation. Buried within many pieces are subtle snippets of newsprint, headlines, & other social commentary that act as time-code elements to root the piece and act as a reference to its place in time.

I am currently represented by Art Dimensions, Los Angeles and Stakenborg-Greenberg Fine Art, Sarasota. Works are also available at Saatchi Art and Museblock.

I find the act of painting akin to breathing, and while I continue to breathe I know I will always have a visceral response to the creative process and be at my happiest.

“K.D.’s artistic talent is comparable to some of the best contemporary art I have seen in the market”.

Larry Oakner
Author & Advertising Creative Director

“Some of Kevin’s paintings have a whimsical Matisse-like quality; others are like Edvard Munch without the angst! Keep up the good work”

Marie Cantin
Producer at Rapid Eye Movement Productions, Inc.
